Tempe Epoxy Flooring: Epoxy Flooring in Tempe, AZ
Tempe Epoxy Flooring coats garage floors, patios and business floors in Tempe, Arizona.
Epoxy flooring in Tempe
Tempe Epoxy Flooring coats concrete floors: garages first of all, plus patios, shops, showrooms and warehouses. Once a garage floor is done, we can also fit garage cabinets and garage storage racks. We work in Tempe and in nearby towns such as Guadalupe, Mesa, Chandler and Scottsdale.
First we come out and look at the concrete. We check for cracks, oil spots and any old coating, ask what you use the space for, and talk through your options. Then we send you a written quote.
Garage floors
Garage floor epoxy
Our garage floor epoxy jobs start with grinding. We grind the top of the concrete so the coating has something to grip, fill the cracks, then put the coats down.
Flake epoxy floors
On flake epoxy floors, we toss colored vinyl flakes onto the wet epoxy and seal over them. We suggest it to owners who like a speckled look.
Polyaspartic floor coatings
We also do polyaspartic floor coatings. In plain terms, polyaspartic is the other liquid plastic coat we use besides epoxy. We roll it on after grinding, either on its own or as the top layer over epoxy.
Choosing a look
We'll bring samples of plain color, flake and metallic, so you can see them in your own garage light. Ask which one we'd pick for the way you use the space, and what each one needs to stay clean.
Clearing out the garage
Before we coat, the garage has to be empty. If clearing it turns up old cans of paint, thinner or glue, the EPA says not to simply toss unwanted products like these in the garbage can. It says to find out whether your local government collects toxic household waste.
In Tempe, the city's Household Products Collection Center at 1320 E. University Drive takes oil-based paints and stains, paint thinners, glues and adhesives from Tempe and Guadalupe residents. Bring proof that you live there, such as a utility bill or driver's license. The center does not take waste from businesses.
On coating day
Once the garage is clear, the coating goes down. NIOSH, which is part of the CDC, says some parts of epoxies and resins can be hazardous before they cure, or dry. It says cured epoxies are usually safer to handle, and that as epoxies cure they generally turn into much less toxic materials. It says to increase ventilation as much as possible, and to wash the skin as soon as you can if these chemicals get on it.
So while we work, keep the door from the garage into the house closed and keep kids and pets out. Don't touch or walk on the floor until we tell you it's ready.
Other floors we coat
Metallic epoxy floors
For metallic epoxy floors, we work in pigments that swirl through the coat. We do them in showrooms, home gyms and game rooms.
Polished concrete
If you want the concrete itself as the floor, we do polished concrete: we grind it smooth in stages, then seal it.
Commercial and warehouse floors
We do commercial epoxy flooring for shops and offices, and warehouse epoxy flooring for floors with forklifts and heavy shelving.
Patio coatings
Outside, we put patio coatings on the concrete around your house.
Concrete prep and repairs
We do concrete grinding to take off old coatings, glue or rough patches. We do concrete crack repair before a coating or on its own. And when an old coating has started to peel, we do epoxy floor repair. Grinding makes dust, so before we start, we'll tell you how we'll keep it out of the house.
What to get in writing

- How the concrete will be ground or prepared.
- Whether crack repair is in the price.
- Whether taking off any old coating is in the price.
- Whether moving things out of the garage is in the price.
- When we expect you can drive on the floor again.
Questions about epoxy floors in Tempe
Can you coat over an old garage coating?
It depends on the old coating. If it's stuck down well, we may be able to grind it and coat over it. If it's peeling, we take it off first.
When can I park on my new floor?
We go by the label on the product we use, and we'll tell you what it says before we start.
Will the coated floor be slippery?
We can add grit to the top coat for more grip. We'll show you a sample so you can feel the texture before you choose.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Someone needs to let us in, and to look over the finished floor with us. You don't need to stay in the garage while we work, and with the house door shut, it's better if you don't.
Which areas do you cover?
We cover all of Tempe, plus Guadalupe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale and nearby parts of Phoenix such as Ahwatukee.
